Pear Aachar
Ingredients
- Firm pears – 500g (washed and sliced)
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp
- Mustard oil – 50 ml
- Vinegar – 1–2 tbsp (optional)
Recipe / How to Make
Wash and slice the pears into medium pieces. Dry them properly using a clean cloth. Mix salt, red chili powder, turmeric, mustard seeds, and fenugreek seeds in a bowl. Add the pear slices and mix well so the spices coat evenly. Heat mustard oil until hot, let it cool slightly, then pour it over the mixture. Mix thoroughly and transfer to a clean, dry glass jar. Keep the jar in sunlight for 2–3 days to enhance flavor before serving.
